Mobile car battery replacement across the North West

Car won’t start? We come to you, find out whether it is the battery, the starter motor or something else, and get you moving again.

A white car parked on a driveway under trees

A flat or failing battery is the most common reason a car won’t start, and it always seems to happen on the coldest morning of the year. We come to you, test the battery and the charging system, and fit a new battery there and then if yours needs one.

If it isn’t the battery, our dealer-level diagnostics find what is stopping the car, whether that is the starter motor, a minor fuel fault or something draining the battery overnight, and we can often put that right on the spot too.

Signs your battery is on its way out

Batteries rarely fail without warning. Get yours tested if you notice any of these:

  • Slow or laboured starting
  • Clicking when you turn the key
  • Dim or flickering lights on start-up
  • The battery warning light is on
  • Stop-start has stopped working
  • Needing jump starts
  • A battery more than four or five years old

Newer cars need a proper battery fit

Many newer cars, especially those with stop-start, use AGM or EFB batteries and a battery management system that needs to know a new battery has been fitted. Fit the wrong type, or skip that step, and the new battery can wear out early.

We fit the right battery for your car and check it with diagnostic equipment, not just a voltmeter. We check the charging system too, so the new battery is not flattened by another fault.

Battery questions

All questions

How much does a typical repair cost?

Without the overheads of a fixed garage, our labour rates are usually lower than main dealers and many local workshops. Prices depend on the job, the make and the parts needed, but you always get a clear quote before any work starts, and servicing is fixed-price. There are no hidden call-out fees within our normal area, and we will tell you if a repair would not be worth it compared with what the car is worth.

How long does a car battery last?

Usually around four to six years, depending on the car, how it is used and the weather. Lots of short journeys, and cars left standing for weeks at a time, wear batteries out faster. If yours is slow to start on cold mornings, get it tested before it lets you down.

Can you fit a new battery at home or at work?

Yes. We come to your driveway, the car park at work or the roadside, usually within the hour. Tell us the make and model when you call so we bring the right battery, and we check the charging system too, so the new battery is not flattened by another fault.

Why does my car battery keep going flat?

Usually one of three things: the battery is worn out, the alternator is not charging it properly, or something is draining it while the car is parked. Lots of short journeys make it worse. We test all three, so you do not end up buying a new battery that goes flat too.
