Mobile auto electrical repairs

Flat batteries, dead windows, warning lights and faults that come and go. We trace electrical problems with dealer-level diagnostics and repair them where the car is parked.

Modern cars have dozens of control modules talking to each other over a network, so an electrical fault can show up a long way from where it starts. A dead window, a warning light and a flat battery can all be the same problem.

Our Autel and Snap-On diagnostics read the body, powertrain, ABS, airbag and climate modules on most makes and models, which is where finding an electrical fault starts. Then we trace it to the part or the wire, and repair it on your driveway or at work.

Electrical faults we fix

Battery keeps going flat?

If the battery is flat every few days, something is usually draining it while the car is parked. It might be a module that won’t go to sleep, a boot or glovebox light that stays on, an accessory that has been wired in, or a fault in the alternator.

We measure the drain, find which circuit it is on and fix it, rather than just selling you a new battery that goes flat too. If the battery itself is worn out, our battery replacement page covers that.

How we track down electrical faults

Faults that come and go are the hardest to find, so tell us when yours happens: in the wet, over bumps, when it is cold or only on long runs. The modules store fault codes, often with details of what was happening at the time, which gives us somewhere to start.

  1. Read every module

Stored fault codes and live data from the systems involved.

  2. Trace the fault

Wiring, connectors and parts tested until we find the cause.

  3. Repair on site

Wiring repairs, replacement parts and software updates where needed.

  4. Clear, retest, report

Codes cleared, the system retested, and a digital report for your records.

Electrical questions

All questions

How much does a typical repair cost?

Without the overheads of a fixed garage, our labour rates are usually lower than main dealers and many local workshops. Prices depend on the job, the make and the parts needed, but you always get a clear quote before any work starts, and servicing is fixed-price. There are no hidden call-out fees within our normal area, and we will tell you if a repair would not be worth it compared with what the car is worth.

Why does my car battery keep going flat?

Usually one of three things: the battery is worn out, the alternator is not charging it properly, or something is draining it while the car is parked. Lots of short journeys make it worse. We test all three, so you do not end up buying a new battery that goes flat too.

Can you repair wiring where the car is parked?

Yes. Once we have traced the fault, most wiring and connector repairs can be done on your driveway or at work. We clear the fault codes, retest the system and give you a digital report of what we found and fixed.
